KIDS’
The Kona Makena is a 20”-wheeled geared kids bike, perfect for starting to take longer family rides or riding to school and suitable for most 6- to 9-year-olds. It comes with front and rear hand brakes and six speeds, but will still accommodate training wheels if necessary. New Makenas go for $379.99, but we have this used one in great shape available for just $249.99.
The GT Palomar is a kids cross-country mountain bike, great for family rides or carving up the trails. A 24 inch wheel bike, it is suitable for most children ages 8 to 12. In good condition, it is currently available for $299.99.
MOUNTAIN
The Devinci Cameleon 2 is a great cross-country mountain bike, perfect for hitting the trails. The Cameleon 2 comes with a RockShox Dart 1 fork with 100mm of travel, strong Formula double-wall wheels, and mechanical disc brakes to let you have fun out on the mountain. A Medium frame, it is suitable for someone with at least a 29 inch inseam. New the Cameleon 2 sells for $649.99, but we have this one, in fantastic shape, available for $449.99.
The 2005 BeOne Stonebumble is a great mountain bike for rougher cross country riding or a larger rider. The Stonebumble comes with an LX rear derailleur for fast, smooth shifting, and Hayes Nine hydraulic disc brakes for fantastic stopping power to let you have fun on the mountain. It also comes with strong, stiff RaceFace cranks for excellent power transfer, making it easier to go faster. A larger frame, it is suitable for someone with at least a 31 inch inseam. HYBRID
The Devinci Stockholm is a hybrid bike, great for riding the road or the Galloping Goose trail. It comes with 24 speeds and strong and light double-wall rims for a zippy, versatile bike. This one, a Medium, is appropriate for someone with at least a 29 inch inseam. The 2012 Stockholm sells for $639.99, but we have this used one in great shape available for $499.99.
ROAD
The 2002 Cannondale R700 is an aluminum-frame road race bike with a carbon fork, great for getting out on the road or even the Galloping Goose and going fast. It comes with Shimano 105 shifters and rear derailleur and a Shimano Tiagra front derailleur for fast, smooth shifting and a lightweight Mavic CPX21 wheelset to make it easier to go faster. This one is a 52cm frame, appropriate for someone with at least a 30 inch inseam. A comparable 2012 bike sells for $1699.99, but we have this R700, gently used, available for $899.99.
CUSTOM
The Chopper was built up from scratch, with tubular chromoly cranks, a heavy duty chain, an internally geared 8 speed hub, and a pivotal seatpost. It also features carbon fibre handlebars and an Avid Code brake. It cost about $2000 to build new, and has been fantastically maintained. We have this bike on sale for $599.99. Please call before coming down, as this bicycle is not always on display.
