BMX
The Free Agent Ambush is a 24″ wheeled BMX, perfect for cruising. This one has been customized with Profile Racing hubs in the hand-spoked wheels, as well as a sealed cartridge bottom bracket, Onyx pedals, and upgrades to the headset and brake. We have it on sale for $449.99.
CUSTOM
The Chopper was built up from scratch, with tubular chromoly cranks, a heavy duty chain, an internally geared 8 speed hub, and a pivotal seatpost. It also features carbon fibre handlebars and an Avid Code brake. It cost about $2000 to build new, and has been fantastically maintained. We have this bike on sale for $599.99. Please call before coming down, as this bicycle is not always on display.
KIDS’
The 20″ Norco HiFi is a rigid-fork kids bike, appropriate for most children ages 6 to 9. It comes with 12 gears and V brakes. We have this one, in good condition, available for only $99.99.
A scaled-down version of Kona’s ever-popular Shred, this smaller-wheeled manifestation does it all. Whether it’s dirt jumping, pounding trail or heavy skate park sessions, the Shred 2-4 has an incredibly tough aluminum frame, disc brakes, durable components and cool paint to ensure it’s timeless enough to last not one kid, but three or four. The Miele Torino is a 24″ wheel hybrid, great for older children or short adults who want something on which to ride the road and the Galloping Goose. With an aluminum frame and 21 speeds, it’s lightweight and versatile. It is appropriate for someone with at least a 23 inch inseam. We have it on sale for $199.99.
The Haro Flightline 24 is a cross-country kids bike, great for riding around the neighborhood or hitting the trail. It comes with a suspension fork, rear gears, and a lightweight aluminum wheelset to make it easier to keep up with the family on longer rides. In fantastic shape, the Flightline 24 is $279.99.
COMFORT
This Specialized Expedition comfort bike has a low stand-over height (appropriate for inseams of 24″ or longer), and positions the rider in a very upright, comfortable posture. This bike is great for cruising around and enjoying the scenery, and its 24-speed drive train provides the versatility to tackle most of the hills that Victoria has to offer. Similar bikes sell new for $399.99 and up; this quality ride is priced at $199.99.
Mountain
The Devinci Cameleon 1 is a cross country mountain bike, great for the lighter trails at Heartland but still zippy enough to ride on the Galloping Goose. A Small, it is appropriate for someone with an inseam of at least 28 inches. This bike is available new on sale for $499.99, but we have this used one in fantastic shape available for just $399.99.
Commuter
The GT Bravado is a chromoly mountain bike outfitted with a rigid fork and slick tires to make a great commuter. It is appropriate for someone with at least a 33 inch inseam. With great smooth- and quick-shifting Shimano XT parts and a brand new fork, we have it on sale for $299.99.
The Giant Escape comes with an aluminum fork in addition to the aluminum frame for a little bit of extra lightness. It’s designed to work well on the road or the Galloping Goose, with puncture resistant tires and 24 speeds. We have it on sale for $399.99.
The Marin Novato is a lightweight performance hybrid with a quick and smooth-shifting Deore rear derailleur, fantastic for commuting or riding the Galloping Goose. This one also comes with fenders and a rear pannier rack. To ride this bicycle comfortably, you need an inseam of at least 32 inches. In great shape, we have the Marin Novato on sale for $399.99.
ROAD
This 2005 LeMond Tourmalet is a great performance bike. It is loaded with great components, including: carbon fibre forks and seatpost, Shimano 105 shifters and front derailleur, Shimano Ultegra rear derailleur, Bontrager Select wheels and Bontrager Race cranks. This bike is lightweight and geared for speed. The frame is approximately 54cm, so you want at least a 31 inch inseam to ride it. Comparable bikes sell for around $1600. We’ve listed this bike, in great condition, at $899.99.
Cyclocross
This 2005 Kona Jake is a great cyclocross bike, and works well as a drop bar commuter bicycle. The Jake comes with a Shimano 105 rear derailleur for fast, smooth shifting and can accommodate fenders and a rack. The Jake has a 56cm frame, and in appropriate for someone with at least a 32 inch inseam. 2012 Kona Jakes are $1149.99, but this one, in excellent condition, is available for just $699.99.
