Steve D. hits Cumberland’s trails

Steve Devan bridge 2. says:

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of getting to know a little more of Cumberland’s terrific mountain bike trail network. I’ve been there a few times already, but each time I make an effort to explore new areas. Without traffic, it’s a 2.5 hour drive from Victoria, making the day trip quite reasonable. I’ve also stayed at the Riding Fool hostel, which I highly recommend for those looking to turn the trip into a multi-day adventure. The trails were fast and frozen, bike path 2with great traction, even on the sturdy wooden structures and other technical trail features (I’m pretty sure I had my fastest run down Blue Collar to date; a blue trail that’s a must ride in my opinion). The trails are easy to navigate using the local trail map. You can find an online version here: http://cvmtb.com/index.php/trails-maps/maps/cumberland-trail-map/, or purchase a hard copy from the local bike shop (Dodge City Cycles) for $5 (worth every penny). For trail recommendations (for all ability levels) and other information, send us a message, or swing by the shop!
