Christmas is Coming

9 12 2011

Here at Goldstream, we’re excited for the holiday season. We’ve been putting green, red, and white bikes out in front of the store and polishing up the gear snowflakes that hang from our ceiling. To help make your Christmas season just a little more fun, we’re also doing our best to help make sure everyone gets the gift they’ve been dreaming of.

Gift Cards
If you’re not sure what the bike enthusiast in your life wants this winter, we offer gift cards in any denomination.

Layaway
For those who are going in on a gift with more than one person and trying to coordinate schedules or those budgeting in advance, we are happy to do layaway towards that perfect bike. All deposits on bikes we have in stock are fully refundable, and they lock in any sale prices we might have going on.

Christmas Storage
Hiding a bike until the big day can be a bit of a task, so we’re happy to help out by storing the bikes here until Christmas Eve.

And, that’s right, we’re open the morning of Christmas Eve for anyone needing to get in last-minute shopping.

From all of us here at Goldstream, Happy Holidays.

- Lifetime Tune-Up Packages

4 12 2011

Goldstream Bicycles is thrilled to announce our new Lifetime Tune-Up package. This package offers you annual tune-ups for as long as you own the bike, for a one-time fee of $99.99 (if purchased with a bike).

Most bicycles benefit from an annual tune-up, which not only makes their gears and brakes work better, but helps many parts last longer through preventative measures, such as making sure bearings are sufficiently tight, and adjusting brake pads so that they wear evenly. Our rigourous 25-point Tune-Up is designed with your bike’s long-term well-being, and therefore, your cycling satisfaction, in mind.

Lifetime tune-ups cost $299.99 on bicycles not sold by Goldstream Bicycles, but are available for only $99.99 if bought with a bike we sell. A single tune-up regularly costs $59.99. Once you’ve paid for two annual tune-ups over the life of the bike, the lifetime tune-up package is less expensive than buying tune-ups as you go. It’s more convenient too; you no longer need to budget for tune-ups, or wonder if your bicycle needs one, you simply get one every year at no additional charge which allows you to enjoy your riding secure in the knowledge your bike is tight and adjusted.

We’ve been quietly rolling out the Lifetime Tune-Up package this autumn, but now we’re proudly announcing it to everyone. We’re offering an opportunity this winter for people who previously purchased bikes at Goldstream Bicycles to buy in to Lifetime Tune-Ups for the $99.99 price that anyone buying one of our bikes can now receive.

Each Lifetime Tune-Up package is associated to a particular bike, and is valid for as long as you own that bike. Replacement parts (if necessary) and installation are extra, but the tightening and adjusting of those parts would be included in each annual tune-up you receive. This is a great way for long-term Goldstream customers and new customers alike to reward themselves, and save the expense of purchasing periodic tune-ups as they enjoy their bicycles.

The option for existing customers to buy into Lifetime Tune-Ups for $99.99 will not be available forever. To benefit from the programme please visit the store before the end of January to ensure your eligibility, and feel free to bring your bike with you and get your first tune-up (a $59.99 value) immediately when purchasing Lifetime Tune-Ups.

- free bikes from Market on Millstream and Goldstream Bicycles

25 11 2011

Goldstream Bicycles is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Market on Millstream to offer five free bikes to Market on Millstream customers this autumn. The five kids bikes, ranging in wheel size from 12″ to 24″ and covering a range of ages from 3-9, will be raffled off between now and the end of the year. Please visit Market on Millstream to see the bicycles (suspended from the ceiling) or to enter the raffle. Thanks to Kona, Opus, and Redline for participating in this giveaway.

This week’s Dutch Auction is an Opus Flux mountain bike 20% off, and all remaining dutch auctions have dropped in price another step as they move ever closer to either selling out or coming off sale (whichever comes first). Check it out to see what’s still available, and come back every Friday to see what’s new.

- New access road to Goldstream Bicycles

7 10 2011

Those of you who have visited the shop in recent months have likely noticed the road work, not to mention the new condo building (“The Granderson”). The road work is now complete, which means there’s a new way to access Goldstream Bicycles.

When heading eastbound on Goldstream Avenue (ie. towards Colwood) and wanting to turn left, you no longer turn left directly into our parking lot. Instead, you turn left a few metres further down, on the new road built on the far side of The Granderson. This new road is called McMurdo, and from there you can turn left onto Granderson Road and slip right into our parking lot.

Heading up Goldstream from Colwood, you now have the choice of the new road (McMurdo) or going a little further and making a right turn at the end of our parking lot.

== Dutch Auctions Update ==

Another Friday, another Dutch Auction. This week’s item is the ’09 Kona One20 Deluxe full-suspension cross-country mountain bike. We have two of these remaining, one in 16″ and one in 18″. The One20 Deluxe was originally $1599.99, and begins the auction on sale at 35% off ($1039.99). They’ll both drop in price each week until they sell, or until November 3rd, whichever comes first.

Though we have sold out of the first two Dutch Auction we do still have some of last week’s auction remaining, so those drop in price this week. The Camelbak Ethos and Kronos are now 55% off this week:

Camelbak Kronos, regularly $239.99, on sale for $107.99
Camelbak Ethos, regularly $219.99, on sale for $98.99

Goldstream Bicycles is open spring and summer stats, so Labour Day is the last statutory holiday we will be open for 2011. We will have a mechanic on staff for those flat repairs and other consequences of your long weekend ride, and also be there for those back-to-school bike sales.

Speaking of sales, all our 2011 road bikes are on sale over 15% off, and we have also discounted all of our high-end commuter hybrids. There are many other sales at the moment (2011 Kona Jake for $799.99, regular $1049.99, Verde BMX bikes 20% off, and much more), so Labour Day is a great opportunity to see it all.
